My question involves child support in the State of: North Carolina

Hi,

I am a newbie on here. I am a divorced and remarried father of a 14 year old daughter living in NC. I and my ex have joint custody, she is the custodial parent, I pay child support, my daughter spends every other weekend with me and my new family (remarried). My daughter has been accepted at a private out of state early college, her and her mom have been talking about it since maybe March. After getting all the paperwork on scholarships etc, I told my ex what I could do financially. Basically, since our daughter would not live at her moms anymore, I asked her to initiate a stop child support and I would use that money to pay for half of the remaining (after scholarships) tuition. Everything would then be shared. Actually, I would still have our daughter on my health insurance. Well, she wanted me to keep paying child support PLUS paying half of the tuition and other cost. That basically means that I pay for all of the tuition, because she can just take my child support and use it for her half of tuition cost, without our daughter living with her Our separation agreement says that the tuition will be shared and it does not have anything in it as far as “early college”. She threatened me with “I already talked to CSE and they said they will garnish your wages”, “I called 2 lawiers and they said you had to pay”, and she's been sending me e-mails, trying to push guilt-buttons.
I feel that I could, if it comes to that, simply say that I do not approve of sending her to early college and insist on sending her to regular high school.
Any ideas out there what I should do, what I should not do, and what my possibilities are? I realize it's hard to describe a situation accurately, so please ask questions if you're nor sure about something.
