I live in NY state.
Someone posted very personal information about me, of a damaging nature, on their (California) website. Giving my full name - first middle and last.
It's about what I was like as a very young child, implying there was something seriously defective about me. She mentions a "nervous breakdown" I had as a teenager.
Is this illegal? Or likely to be against the acceptable use policies of the web host?
If I go looking for a job and they google my name and find this online, it would be prejudicial.
Do I have privacy rights about information that's so personal?
I know she wouldn't take it down if I asked. She doesn't have my best interests at heart. She would likely get more explicit on her website if I asked her to remove the stuff.
