My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of Pennsylvania.
I originally signed a sublet agreement for the months of June and July. However, some personal matters have come up and I need to move out. Unfortunately, my sublessor won't let me back out of my contract. I've been perusing through our old correspondence, and she had mentioned in her original description of the apartment that it would be furnished. However, about two days before I was set to move in, it was discovered that all the furniture (belonging to the guys whose lease ended prior to hers beginning) would be removed from the rooms and put into storage in the basement until they came to pick it back up at the end of summer. Hearing this, she did go ahead and purchase another bed for me. But aside from that, I have no other furnishings. It has been a month, and I'll using my suitcases as a means of storage. I have not actively said anything about this issue for the past month, but is it a viable reason for me to break my contract?
Also, she waived the security fee and changed the mode of rent payment on the contract to me paying the landlord instead of paying the sublessor after I had signed the document, and notified me about the change in e-mail later. My only concern is, the fact that I did not contest the change before moving in - would that be considered as consent?
Thank you in advance.
