Exclamation Accidentally Left Property With a Friend, Who Won't Return It

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas/Washington State

I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do about this.

I recently moved away from Texas to Washington and I accidentally left a very important box with a "friend" there. It's been over 3 months since I first asked him to mail it to me and even offered to send him money to mail it. Now he's gotten an attitude about it because I'm upset at it taking so long to get it. He's avoiding me now, ignoring me and refuses to mail me my belongings.

The box has gold plated collectors things in it as well as family heirlooms, I can't believe I left it but it was inside of his trunk when I left.

Is there anything I can do or file for or call the police down there? I have text logs that will prove that he has it and it's mine.

    Thanks.

You can take him to court in Texas to sue for the return of your belongings.
