    Default Grand Theft Felony Charge

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida.

I was just arrested for Grand Theft/Organized Scheme to defraud. The situation came about because at my former employer I completed false refunds. This was over the course of a few months and came to an estimated dollar value of $12,000.

I was just release S.O.R. after one night and my court date is 5 weeks away. When approached on this matter I admitted to what I did and cooperated fully with my employer and police and I am a first time offender. My question is related to sentencing. Is there any way to get out of this without jail time??

I had a public defender at my first appearance and I will be looking to speak with them again or contact another lawyer if possible on Monday.

Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You may be able to get out of this without jail time, although it will help if your record is otherwise clean and possibly also if you've made full restitution.

That's what I'm hoping for. My record is clean, and I want to work something out to pay full restitution.
