    Default Employee Theft

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

Alright so here it goes..I know what I did was wrong, and I feel I've made the worst mistake of my life, I'm just trying to educate myself on the situation as to the ramifications that may follow. So here's the story..

I worked for a major electronics retailer. Me and 2 guys were in on a method to get electronics out of the store. A guy that sat next to me at work I think was caught and ratted all of us out. The loss prevention agents brought me in and questioned me. They apparently knew all about my ebay and paypal account (i was selling some things online.) as well as to certain categories of things i had gotten out. The sales amount on ebay was around $3200. The LP agents convinced me if I were to coroporate and be honest and give up names and items they took that there would be nothing to worry about aside from restitution. I was very freaked out. I normally do not get into this kind of trouble. I just got caught up with the wrong kind of people and had access to easy money..an easy mistake to make I suppose at my age. In any case I was very freaked out..I wrote a 3 page confession (from what I'm told would be thrown out in court according to my lawyer, since my rights were not read to me) and spilled the beans on all the people involved, the category of items taken (nothing in specific) and how it was done. Afterward I agreed to meet the LP agents the next day at work at 11am to bring what the "goods" i had at my house. Because I was so freaked out, I gave them the one thing I had in my car that was stolen which was valued at around $400.

When I got home I called my lawyer and had a consultation with him. He told me not to show up with the product that I had because I will basically be giving them all the evidence they needed they would probably have a police officer waiting to take me to jail.

I know I made a huge mistake and I don't know how to make it right. I have never been in trouble like this. I guess I am trying to get an idea of what I may be looking at? I don't know if charges were filed, I've been calling the police department every 2 days to see if a warrant has been issued and nothing yet. However I was told they had a police officer at work today so I'm sure they're taking some action.

However me nor any of the guys that were involved were actually caught red handed stealing...and if they had all the evidence they needed don't you think I would have been arrested and taken to jail on the spot? My lawyer apparently thinks thats the case and theyre just trying to scare the shit out of me..which is working very well...Obiviously I'm sure LP is going to continue their investigation to get as much (or any) evidence they need..This happend 5 days ago, and still no call from a detective and no active warrant..

Any advice from anyone that could help would be greatly appreciated..This is driving me insane to the point of where I can't even really sleep because I'm worrying so much..

    Thank you.
