    Default Emancipation in Arizona

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of:Arizona.
I was forced to move to Arizona from Idaho two weeks ago because my parents couldn't find work. I try talking to them about letting me stay in my hometown in Idaho with my grandparents but they won't listen to me. I'm sixteen. I turn 17 in September. I was wondering if I could get emancipated and have my grandparents be my financial support.

This sentence proves conclusively that you have no idea what is meant by emancipation. It does not mean, your parents are deprived of their right to parent you and someone else pays your support; it means that YOU and only you are paying for your rent, food, clothing, transportation, medical care, insurance, school fees and supplies, and all the other incidentals of life, while simultaneously going to school and making better than average grades.

Additionally, if there has been a teen in any state who has been successfully emancipated on the basis that their bad, mean parents wanted them to move and the poor wronged minor didn't want to go, I have yet to hear of it.

You're staying in Arizona until you're 18, kid. Get used to it.

You're not eligible for emancipation in Arizona for a number of reasons.

    1) You're not an Arizona resident. You need to live there 6 months to establish residency.

    2) You do not have a job that enables you to support yourself 100%. Emancipation does not mean "Get away from my parents so someone else can support me."

    3) You have not lived on your own, supporting yourself 100%, for three consecutive months. You can't even apply without doing that and showing to the judge's satisfaction that you're capable.

Also, if your parents object, you won't be emancipated.

Agree. Your parents are going through some rough financial times right now and are trying to give you a place to live where the family is not struggling. Say thank you; it could be a lot worse.
