    Question Residency for Divorce

My question involves divorce in the State of:Michigan

My husband is active duty Army and is stationed in N.Y. We never changed our driver's license's over from Michigan and we are now getting a divorce. My license is valid and I've been in the county where I live for over a month so the 10 days doesn't come into play. Does anyone know if I still have to wait the 180 days before I can file?

    Default Re: Residency for Divorce

You're asking about the requirement that you or the defendant be a resident of Michigan for not less than 180 days before you can file for divorce? If you don't meet the residency requirements, you don't meet the residency requirements - it's that simple.
