Default Personal Property Left in a Foreclosure in Montana

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Montana

I am a servicer for FNMA properties and would like clarification on personal property left behind. The national service companies say throw it away or give it away but i believe this is a huge liability on my part. So far most houses have had just junk but i have one this week with around $1000 in garage sale value of personal belongings. How do i proceed with large amounts of personals in Montana??

Standard practice is to treat it as discarded by the former owner.

If you're worried about liability, talk to your insurance agent about the scope of your coverage.
