Default Liability to real estate agent

We are trying to sell our house here in Florida through a real estate agent. After a couple of months of no prospective buyer we thought of just selling it to one of these "no agent" entities/ investors(?). Our problem is we don't know what agreement we have signed with the real estate agent (which I know was plain stupid on our part). Anyway, can the real estate agent refuse to unlist our house and let us sell it the way we want it?

Ask your agent for a copy of the agreement so you can determine your obligations. Or ask your agent to release you from the agreement - but if the agent does agree to release you, make sure you get it in writing.
