On February 9th of this year i was convicted in VA of misdemeanor shoplifting (offense occured in December of 2009). As part of the punishment I received a year of un-supervised probation.
My criminal history was clean until I was convicted.
For the past 5 years I've traveled with my in-laws to Canada for 2 weeks in august. I just thought about this tonight...will my probation deem me in-admissible to Canada? I realize that the best way to find out is to contact the probation office and ask but I won't be able to do so until later next week because of my hours at work.
If it helps at all, I have paid all of my fines and court fees, I have not violated the no-trespassing order, and I have received counseling and completed the N.A.S.P. anti-shoplifting program (the counseling and NASP progam were NOT required). I have also not received any other charges, be it criminal, traffic, or civil related.
