Default My 17 Year Old Teen Wants to Live Independently

My question involves guardianship in the State of: BC Canada

My 17 yo son doesn't want to live with his mom and I cannot accomodate him due to my shift work at various locations. So, kid thinks about living on his own and finishing his last year in high school. That involves renting his own place, getting car, registering in a different school.

    Quetions in this regard.

Does his mom have to support him financially? He is still in high school. I will be supporting him but that may not be enough.

Is he eligible for child tax benefit or portion of it? I am not sure what his mom is receiving now from government. I would think this same amount can just as well go directly to my kid.

Is there any other financial support available from Government?

Can he receive free "case management" services and career councelling from HR Canada?

I will be glad to hear any relevant info here.

    We don't do Canadian Law.

Personally, if kid wants to leave then he should support himself and not expect anything from mom or the government.
