Today I went on a job interview in IL. I had recieved an email last week from a well-known staffing firm asking if I were interested in applying for the position. I sent them my resume, and the representative of the staffing firm and I had a rather lengthy conversation about my skills and the position, and I went into more detail expending upon my written resume and going into more detail, just as one does in an interview.

I walked into the interview today, and all proceeded as normal, until the interviewer said "I see from your resume that you've done AB and C as well at such and such a company." Probably not the best response, but my mouth dropped open and I said "No it doesn't." I took at lot of time writing and memorizing it and I can speak to every point in detail. I looked at the one he had, and sure enough, it had been changed, and some of it I would never have included because it just doesn't sound professional, nor is what I want included in a snapshot of my experience.

The rest of the interview went well, but I'm not sure if they though I was a moron for not knowing what was on my resume, or if they are suprised the staffing firm they hired would do this. I have a record, the email record of the original resume I sent to the staffing company, and I took a copy of the doctored up resume the staffing firm presented.

The staffing firm is doing anything it can to turn a commission, and they're jeopardizing people's careers in the process. Is this fraud? Are there damages?
