If the court feels that a submitted petition for emancipation might have merit, the court can appoint one to assist in evaluating whether the petitioner is a good candidate for emancipation (along with ordering evaluations from other professionals). Unless the peition has clear indication of (a) parental consent (since this is Florida), (b) a history of self-support, and (c) no red flags (behavior problems, criminal history, school problems), the application won't even get that far. Less than 1% of petitions get to that point.
