    Default Slanderous Comments

    Hi,I am in the UK

During a employement investigation into bullying, a collegue "S" made a statement on tape during a interview, that I had bullied another collegue "J".
"J" during her interview said she had no dealings with me
During the actual hearing "J" was surprised to hear that i had been charged with bullying her and said herself again that i had not bullied her.

During the time of the allegations i did not work with "J"

Although i will be taking out greivences against the company for pursueing this with no evidence, Can i take a personel case of slander against "S" ?
    Thanks

This is a US website, and US and UK law are not the same. We don't have any experts on UK law here, sorry.

Generally speaking, testimony in quasi-judicial settings and statements made by employees as part of such an internal investigation have absolute immunity.

However, there are major differences in law between the US and England in the area of defamation and you should consult a solictor in your country.
