My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
I was arrested of a misdemeanor case of domestic violence in the state of Ohio. At that time I was in the process of re-enlisting back in the military. I did not want to be affected by the latenburg amendment in order to get back in, so I plead no contest to an amended charge of disorderly conduct MC-605.03A1. I was told by the prosecutor and my lawyer that I should be OK. At this point I am ready to talk the recruiter to try and re-enlist. After doing some research I found out that I may be effected by the convitction. Will I be hit by the Latenburg Amendment under Ohio law, if so what will my option to move pass this if any because the prosecutor and my lawyer said I should be OK if I take the plea.
