My question involves divorce in the State of: Florida.
I am filling out the Income Deduction Order Form 996a. Although it seems like a simple and straightforward form, it has me confused in a couple of areas. My ex has been ordered to pay $310 a month in alimony, to be deducted from his paychecks. The problem I am having is this: since he gets paid bi-weekly, do I divide the yearly alimony amount by 26 paydays? This would have him paying a little less than $310 per month for ten months out of the year and a little more than $310 for two months out of the year. On the months that he would end up paying me more, would that conflict with the order to pay me $310 per month?
I would appreciate the help. I was a homemaker for 32 years and find myself having to start over on a minimum wage, part time job. I desperately need this additional income and don't want to make any mistakes on this form. Thank you.![]()
