YOU are the one who chose to go buy dope. The choice was entirely yours. And under the law this does not sound like "entrapment".

I know that this is a fairly old thread so chances are the person writing this won't even read it. The story is really surprising to me. To do this for a "pretty girl" seems like a pretty lame excuse!!! Maybe you'll be more careful in the future. But chances are as a first time offender not much will happen. My thoughts are if you chose to do the crime....... do the time! Getting others in trouble for your actions seems like a pretty lame thought. You could end up sending others to prison for something that you'd probably get a slap on the wrist for.

If I was there. I would assume they set you up for the crime. But they did it in a way that covered themselfs. You could aruge entrapment because they set you up for get a drug you might not otherwise obtain. But a lawyer would have to argue that one (Good One) for it to be aruged during the case. If you cant offerd a Lawyer, it looks like they set you up and they have you red handed with it. The DA might make a plea deal, if you explain the entire situation. Its just some pot for a girl I assume. You were not selling it to little kids on the streets. If all the above fails, simply ask to contact the DA and see what he thinks. He can drop charges if he feels the need to.

For example, I was charged with possion with intent. But the DA dropped th charges on delivering it and went for the under one gram. Even though it was over, in exchange for a gulity plea. Unless its a big case with solid info behind it. Most DA dont want to go to trail, it uses up money and time. But if they see you has having a weak lawyer, they might end up doing it just for their own career.

I totally disagree with this statement. He did something that he may get a slap on the wrist for, however if entraptment is actually the case they did far worse. He would not be getting other people in trouble for his actions, he would be getting them in trouble for their own actions. The lesser of two evils would be his drug "deal" while the possible abuse of the police is far worse.
