My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: Missouri
When driving in Missouri, I realized that I needed to take an online test for one of my university classes. Because by scholarships are dependent on my grades this semester, I pressed the gas and attempted to get to St. Jefferson, which I knew had internet access, as quickly as possible. I got pulled over and received a Misdemeanor charge for reckless driving: it turns out that I was going over 100 miles an hour. The police officer was very understanding of my situation, and seemed to realize that I was dealing with outside factors. I have only one other traffic violation from when I was 16 (possibly 17, I don't remember for sure), and it was because I still occasionally made mistakes when driving down hills and I ended up speeding. I am currently 19, but was 18 during the time of my speeding ticket and I was to know 1. if we are doing everything possible and 2. what the probable consequences will be.
My parents got a lawyer, and he gave us a list of things to do:
1. Compile a document of all past and possible future community service
*I have 730 completed hours of community service
*I have a projected 1,454 hours of community service by age 25
2. Get the driving record
3. Complete an online drivers course (there wasn't time for a proper one)
4. A parental statement saying they'll take my license for 1 or 2 months.
5. A copy of last semester's grades
*2 A+, 2 A's, 1 A-, and 1 C+ (Calc 2)
So, am I doing everything possible and what are the probable outcomes of my court case?
