My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: CA

Long time employee of construction trade, sheet metal...15 years. Have a company work truck that is falling apart and hasn't been serviced in years. One morning it wouldn't start and boss told me to have co-worker jump it, one month ago. This morning truck would not start again, had cables but was boxed in and couldn't pull my own car up to jump it. Called boss. He said 'Its up to you" and that was it. Company has no roadside in our work fleet. I called my own company, and it would cost me $44.00. Told my boss and he replied, via text:
'I'm leaving it up to you"
Meanwhile I am missing time and money because I am not billing to a specific job. I had my own roadside come out because I was losing money and work. Boss is not going to pay for it after I submitted the receipts. I don't know what my recourse is here.

There is a lot more to what this employer does, but if anyone is interested we can talk about those issues later.

Thanks community!
