The way you respond is you file a Defendant's Answer and address each of the allegations listed in the Complaint.

If you got something different you'll have to say what it is.

If you don't know what you got because you didn't go to the courthouse to get copies of the case file like I suggested earlier, then I don't know what to tell you.
My court is actually Pima County Consolidated Justice Court. In the Civil forms section of their website they have an "Answer" form. I'm guessing this is what I'm looking for.

Since the court is closed today, I will stop by tomorrow and have a look at my case file.

Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it.

Have you even considered trying to negotiate? Now that they've had to sue, there's really no incentive for them but you never know.
I plan to negotiate with the prosecuting law firm in a few days. I'm a little bit worried that they won't settle for less, but we shall find out soon. I need to pick up the case file before I do anything else.

So, once (and if) I do payoff this law firm and debt collector, do you know if they will both be removed from my credit report? Right now my credit report shows separate records for both the original creditor and the LVNV "scavenger" debt collector.
