My question involves name change laws in the State of: Missouri

Hello,

I was wondering was there any state law in Missouri related to the naming of new born children with un wed parents, both of whom are present at birth and sign the birth certificate. My son's mother is refusing to give our son my last name, but I have been around every step of the way and will be present at the time of his birth as well. My question then would be; if I establish paternity at the hospital, and sign the birth certificate, will he automatically (and legally) have to have my last name, even if she protests?

Please advise.
Even though you may have signed an AOP, mom gave birth and you are not married - mom names the baby.

I do have to say that you didn't act smartly when you signed the AOP and birth certificate. If you did not have a DNA test done at that time how do you know that you are truly dad.
