I just remembered something else! Right before I filled out the background check I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. I called it back and an answering machine said, "you have reached..." and where the person is supposed to say their name, a guy's voice said, "run scared."
Around this time someone also threw a black pair of panties on the ground near my driveway.
This is connected to the background check. The police were trying to make sure I filled out the form for the background check, and after I filled it out is when these weird experiences started happening left and right. But I don't understand why the background check started it.

Of course. The answer was no, they KNOW they didn't move it there. And they too are finding things moved that they are baffled as to how/when/why were moved.

One of the lawyers suggested this. But I don't have the tools. I would need a motion sensing camera or one of those cameras for recording the growth of a plant, because of the timing when law enforcement are sneaking in. My memory card isn't big enough to hold 8 hours of footage (they are coming in just before I come home from work because it's when nobody is home.) I could turn it on before I leave for work but it would run out of space before they come in.
If I went out and bought the type of camera I need, law enforcement would know what I'm doing and just stay out of the house for a while. Then again maybe that's a good thing.
