If the money goes from the paycheck to the court and then to your ex you'd better call the court first thing Monday and find out what to do.

But if the money goes straight from your paycheck to your ex, you ought to be able to set up a new wage assignment with your new employer.

Just make sure you keep careful records forever.

If payment is through a local child support agency (LCSA), inform the LCSA of the job change so that they can secure a new income withholding order.

My wage assignment work like this. Everytime I receive a pay stab from my company. The company will send a garnishment check to my ex's personal mail box.

What I plan to do is keep sending checks with the court ordered amount to my ex after changed to new company.

In that case, why do you not do the same thing with your new employer?

    Wait a minute.

Was this a voluntary wage assignment based on the divorce decree or did the court have to serve a garnishment notice on your employer to get the money withheld and sent to your wife?

That might work if you make sure your ex receives the checks on the same days that she received them from your employer.

Just make sure you keep a careful record of the payments.

I'm just wondering what happens if the currently employer notifies the court that you no longer work there.

I talked with the HR manager yesterday. She said she will send a notice to my ex that I leave the current company. My concern is that the current wage assignment is dedicated written to my current company. If I gave that wage assignment to my new company, they probably think it invalid since the company name in the wage assignment is the old company name. That is why I think it more easy for me to keep sending checks the same way my ex receive in the past, i.e., two checks per month.
