    Many debt collectors do not have even the basic information. That is why you ALWAYS ask for validation. My point is you always ask for validation of any debt. Just like the problems with home mortgages, credit card debts were also bundled and sold on Wall St. Even the original creditors might not have the records to show they own the debt. ALWAYS ask for validation.
