Sheesh....
For what it's worth, I don't have a dog in this fight, the CA MJ proposal, I'm not a user and it wouldn't affect me, I was thinking about a state passing laws that were counter to federal laws and IF they'd be lawful laws, one of the posts gave an opinion that sounded kosher, and I suppose IF the President asked the DOJ and his AG not to aggressively pursue certain cases, the AG would be obliged not too?
I honestly don't know.IF the President asked the DOJ and his AG not to aggressively pursue certain cases, the AG would be obliged not too?
I wouldn't see any reason the U.S. AG could not act independently. He probably won't keep his job very long if he pisses off his boss though.
and btw ncc1701 (are really that much of a trekkie?)
as Carl noted way back when, regardless how legal MJ is per state law, the feds can prosecute their MJ laws in California.
The only thing they need to be concerned about, I believe, would be being able to claim jurisdiction over the crime.
