My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: Michigan
I live in Michigan.. am i allowed to view and read over my medical file at the doctors office? Not the transriptedones but the main file they use when you go to see them for an appointment? Also ok long story short.. about a year or so ago i slipped and fell down some steps..I had mentioned tot he doctor several times since then that my wrist hurt and the noticeable swelling on the top of my hand just below my thumb and to the left.. He had never ordered x-rays or nothing never really took the time to even look it over..well 3 wks ago i had to have carpel tunnel surgery on the same hand. Before surgery the Surgeon and Radialogist spke with me and informed me that there was a broken bone in my wrist which is why the swelling and the pain in the wrist.. Now heres the kicker.. the bone did not heal.there is fiber tissues between the broken area and both sides of the bone are dead... I will be making an apppintment with my Doctor to review my medical file..Not the transcripts but the file itself.. The Doctors office I attend is where it is mainly interns and an overseeing Doctor.. Now the hand surgeon wants me to get it xrayed every few months to see if the bones that are dead are killing off more of the bone.. and if so i have 3 options.. well those three options should not even have to be a factor if the previous doctor would have listened to my complaints...i surely could use some suggestions on how to go about handling this situation..
