Unemployment apparently concluded that you quit. If you said, "If I don't get a raise, I'm quitting," and your employer accepted that as a resignation, that's quitting.
All you can do is appeal. It will be up to the state to decide if you get UI benefits or not. We have no way of knowing what they will decide.
Yes, you can be terminated for requesting more money - you can be terminated at any time for any reason not prohibited by law (ie age, gender, religion). However, it will be up to the unemployment people to decide if you were terminated or quit & if you qualify for benefits.
