Simple rule for all LP "know" they have merch. Thats no brainer. No chase polices vary and this could include a boundry or no pursuit. I do not know eithers but this is Rite aid and I do know thye do not employ in store LP around the clock the LP rove even store staff do not know who they are. An employee could have gotten plate or even LP if perp had passed boundry (if any) However it appears as though OP did get away (time will tell) I would say it would not be wise to return though

agree do not return also. Most likely if they know you did something your face has been seen by cameras, and prolly posted on a board somewhere waiting for you to enter again. Least thats the way a certain retailer i work for did.

If they have evidence of theft it is their right (if they choose) to take said evidence to Police for filing of charges. The Police submit this to DA or act on request of retailer to contact you for surrender.

Heres what you do not understand if you steal one $30.00 item the retailer must sell several more to make up just the lost of the one which still places tehm behind. Its much more than $30.00 issue. If the retailer ignores the theft they do not get a chance to recoup loses thrugh Civil Demand or restitution.
