This really isn't about being caught evading/eluding police but wondering if I could be charged with it.

I drive a red mustang cobra..during the day it sticks out like sore thumb and if it wasn't for my very advanced radar detector (beats the V1) I would have a lot of tickets..anyway at night is where the problem, or fun is, depends on how you look at it. We all know cops use the night for cover to trap those speeding, I use it to evade. Several times now while on the highway after dark with light traffic I've run across cops hiding in the grass with their lights off/car off, when I'm pack leader. My radar detector true lock on warning goes off (cop using instant on) and I see in the rear mirror them starting their car. I know I'm done as its clearly me they are after, thinking fast I do 2 things..1) put on my seat belt just in case they do get me, 2) I phantom shift into the slower lanes. The result is I see the cop speed ahead looking for me, kind of gets confused and slow down still looking for me..and then either goto a new hiding spot or turn around. so far this trick has been 100% successful for me, but I wonder when/if it does backfire can they tack on a bogus charge of evading them even though they never turned on their lights?

My best one was I was doing 105 in a 65...I knew I was caught when I saw the cop didn't even need to look at my radar detector...I managed to phantom shift to the slower lane, looked behind me saw him speed up looking all over for me, couldn't find me.. was right beside me, looked at me and went ahead for a bit and was starting to turn around when I caught up...he must have spotted my fog lights and started reversing it..I rolled down my window, flipped him off and shouted maybe next time dumbass, and phantom shifted again...he never bothered coming after me.
