My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia and Arizona
You see I got a felony poss. In va. For a used empty needle. I got offered 60 days in jail and countered with a program. I got the plea and went to arizona for treatment. I was just supposed to do 30 days but for the first time in my life it stuck I opted to stay for all stages of care and planned to move back there for good after I went back for sentencing at court. I came back to va the day before court with 110 days of sobriety under my belt for the first time in my life since I was 16. And the judge accepts my plea and puts me on probation. I go to check in and transfer and he says it's not Likly that Arizona will accept my case and I'll have to stay here in va. I don't know what to do. There are users everywhere here. I have nowhere to live if I don't want to be around it. I have since relapsed. And I'm terrified of getting hooked back on it. If Arizona denies my transfer and I just run from va and go back anyway. Isn't Arizona a no extradition state? If I stay low-key there for a certain amount of time will the trouble in va. Disappear. I've heard 5 years. I'm desperate. Someone please help me if I stay in va. I'll either die or end up back in jail. I was a productive member of society in arizona. I had a job. I was clean for the first time ever and I was happy. What can I do?
