Neither me or my wife are on drugs... they gave her methadone because of my wife's past....
Your statement suggests one of two possibilities: First, that your wife is in recovery for opiate addiction and she was being maintained on methadone for the course of her pregnancy; or, second, that your wife was on other opiates for a pain condition and was transitioned to methadone for her pregnancy due to concerns for the possible complications that her former medications might create for her pregnancy.

Either way, if she was being prescribed methadone, she should have been taking her methadone. Cessation during pregnancy poses harm to the fetus. More than that, if she was being prescribed methadone and was not taking that medication, why didn't she tell her doctors that she was ceasing her use of methadone? What was she doing with the methadone she was receiving from her doctors, if not taking it?

If there's another explanation, please share it.
