Repossession: Re: Auto Loan In Default, Car Sold

I have a similar experience, though for a much smaller amount. I got a loan to buy a used truck off of eBay for $3900. The the bank financed $3400 and I paid the rest cash. Since I bought from a...

Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: Re: 12 Year Old Caught Shoplifting

So if the kid or parent refused to sign the civil demand form, then what happens? They don't go to the cops? I thought the civil demand was the corporations way of letting the offender pay their way...
  3. Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: Re: Twelve Year Old Caught Shoplifting With Friends

But if they didn't sign the form, wouldn't the corporation go to the cops instead? That's what I meant.
  4. Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: Re: Twelve Year Old Caught Shoplifting With Friends

Especially if you can't afford the civil demand, I'd just let them go after your kid. Some time in juvey wouldn't be the worst thing for him. If he's saveable, he won't do anything to go back.

Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: Re: 12 Year Old Caught Shoplifting

It's too late now, but if I were you I wouldn't have signed the civil demand paper. I wouldn't have paid anything for him. Let them go after your kid, some time in juvey would've done him some good....

Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: Re: Waiting For Civil Demand In Massachusetts

I'd look into it to see if anything's been filed, in case the mail got lost. Otherwise, it's of my OPINION that it's not your responsibility to make sure they punish you with the civil demand. I...

Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: Re: Target Parking Lot Cameras And Shoplifting

I worked at a Target for about a month, long enough to see how things work. They have these guys who wear a doofy looking dark security uniforms who are supposed to watch out for shoplifters, but...
  8. Retail Fraud / Shoplifting: Re: Caught Shoplifting In California Two Months Ago But Bill Has Not Arrived Yet

I'm sorry if I'm wrong, which there is a chance that I am, but in my OPINION, it's their responsibility to send you the "bill." It's not your responsibility to call them up and make sure they punish...

Chapter 7: Do I Have Too Many Assets For Bankruptcy

I'm considering Chap 7. I make less than 20K a year in salary, and have 40K in debt. I've defaulted on three car loans, one was repo'd and sold at auction, the balance owed is 7.5K. Another one was...
  10. Repossession: Re: Default On Loan, Legal Ramifications Of Stripping Car

Yeah I saw some dumb guy trying to sell a 97 Grand Prix for parts on eBay. He filed bankrupcty in 2000 and nobody ever came to get the car. I didn't stick around for the result of the auction.
  11. Repossession: Re: Default On Loan, Legal Ramifications Of Stripping Car

Oh, I've heard cases of people filing bankruptcy, but nobody ever coming to get their car. What happens then?
  12. Repossession: Re: Default On Loan, Legal Ramifications Of Stripping Car

Ok thanks. I guess I'm off to the bankruptcy forum.
  13. Repossession: Re: Default On Loan, Legal Ramifications Of Stripping Car

That's what I suspected, I was considering this in conjunction with Chapter 7 to discharge any amount owed. My income is less than 20,000 a year but I have 40,000 in debt from when I was in the...
  14. Repossession: Default On Loan, Legal Ramifications Of Stripping Car

Obviously I'm going to be attacked for what I'm proposing, but since this is a legal help website, I need to know the legal ramifications.

    I have a 2003 Acura RSX type S that I bought 08/2006, in...
