Traffic Accidents: Re: Statistics on Cases That Go to Trial

I've been called for jury duty five times. I don't know about other states but in MA you call the night before and are told whether or not to report. Twice I was told not to report. One time I made...
  2. Civil Rights Issues: Re: Where Can I Find Civil and Civic Laws Pertaining to a Presidential Candidate

And why do you imagine that a person running for office (no matter what the office) is subject to any different laws or procedures or policies than anyone else?

Re: Perjury and Arrest for Wrong Address

OP, have you already made the correction to your address?

If so, then if you should get a ticket somewhere down the road, there is no chance - NO chance whatsoever - that you will be arrested for...

Re: Perjury and Arrest for Wrong Address

The odds that you will be arrested because of an error in your address are so low that the instrument has not yet been invented that is able to calculate them.
  5. Re: Perjury and Arrest for Wrong Address I Hope Not

It is about 99.99995% likely that they can see it was just an honest mistake and you'll be okay.

The odds go up to 100% if you drive in such a way that you don't get a traffic ticket.
  6. Unemployment Benefits: Re: Voluntary Quit- Trailing Spouses- Relocating with a Fiance from California to Nv

How 'immediate' it has to be is not up to us. The only entity who has a vote in this matter is the EDD. You may have a hard time getting through but yes, they do have a customer service area. Call...
  7. Re: Vandalism the Hard-To-Remove Parking Violation Stickers

    Here's a thought. Don't violate parking rules.
  8. Business Finance: Re: Who is Responsible for Employee Wages: Ceo or Cfo (100% Shareholder)

The person within a corporation who is legally responsible to pay the employees is the person that the corporation gives that authority/responsibility to. It is not set by law. However, the buck...
  9. Job Benefits: Re: Year End Bonus Entitlement (Post Termination) - Ohio

There is nothing in either Federal or Ohio law under which such a bonus as you describe is a right or an entitlement.

    Re: Moonlighting Issue

Agreed. What "craft" or position you hold is not a protected category under the law, meaning that it's quite legal to treat them differently.

Disabilities and Accommodation: Re: Wages Not Being Paid According to Contract

Whether the wage increase is contractually required to be retroactive to the first of the month depends on the exact wording of the agreement, and I mean the entire agreement, not just a sentence or...
  12. Deprivation of Civil Rights: Re: Facebook Violates the U.S. Constitution and Violates Freedom of Speech, Helping t

    Tell you what, then.

Hire an attorney and sue them. God forbid that any public entity be allowed to shape public opinion. Who cares about the First Amendment, anyway.

  14. Re: Kings Coach As Eg. Misguided. Need More Direction

The only people who know exactly what happened are the two people involved. It's not for you to decide what happened. In the absence of proof one way or the other, the only safe action for you to...
  15. Deprivation of Civil Rights: Re: Facebook Violates the U.S. Constitution and Violates Freedom of Speech, Helping t

The above post is the first one in which you asked a question, so anything prior to that was simply ranting. Which is not the purpose of the board.

Nowhere in the Constitution does the law put...
  16. Deprivation of Civil Rights: Re: Facebook Violates the U.S. Constitution and Violates Freedom of Speech, Helping t

The purpose of this form is to provide general legal information, not to support illogical rants that have no legal purpose behind them.
  17. Deprivation of Civil Rights: Re: Facebook Violates the U.S. Constitution and Violates Freedom of Speech, Helping t

Okay, you've made us aware of your thoughts. Thank you for sharing.

If you think a crime has been committed or a protected right vioated, hire an attorney - a message board can do nothing to help...
  18. Slander: Re: Quote-Mining Social Media and a Serious Breach of Trust

Fine. Post the criminal statute that was violated. Or the one that required forum PM's to be kept confidential.
  19. Slander: Re: Quote-Mining Social Media and a Serious Breach of Trust

Different forums can have different rules, but there is no legal requirement to keep the contents of PM's confidential.
  20. Slander: Re: Quote-Mining Social Media and a Serious Breach of Trust

Where did you get the idea that PM's are legally required to be kept confidential?
  21. Slander: Re: Quote-Mining Social Media and a Serious Breach of Trust

What this all boils down to is, you want the right to speak as you please, but you don't want other people to have the same right.
  22. Slander: Re: Quote-Mining Social Media and a Serious Breach of Trust

You may be done, but that doesn't mean everyone else is. When you post on an open forum, you don't get to control who answers or when.

    Or even how...
