Speeding Tickets: Re: Officer Does Not Know the Speed Limit

I wonder if Kansas allows a "reasonable and prudent" defense. 5 miles over is often ignored.

    Loan Agreements: Re: Auto Loan

North Carolina is one of those few states where the court is not permitted to issue wage garnishment orders for consumer debt.

    Re: Divorce

Not necessarily. I imagine that there are process servers (or the equivalent) in India that you can hire to serve the papers on her.

If she responds with a demand for an asset division you work it...

Speeding Tickets: Re: Officer Does Not Know the Speed Limit

Fastline, your attitude towards law enforcement sucks and I'll bet it was you being a dick during the traffic stop.

If you don't want to man up and pay the fine I suggest you plead not guilty, go...
  5. Re: Facebook Suspension Due to Changing Phone Number

Try starting another account under another name with minimal information. Probably a facebook no no but if it works, who cares.
  6. Re: How to Keep Copies of Important Emails

Then you are good to go. Just make sure you back up the data to a backup hard drive that is separate from your computer. A little redundancy goes a long way.
  7. Re: How to Keep Copies of Important Emails

If you have a PC with Windows 7 through 10, use Snipping Tool to capture the image of the email and then save it to the appropriate file. I do that all the time. Very convenient.

  10. Speeding Tickets: Re: Cowlitz Co. Wa Speeding Ticket: Showing Prejudice

Then it's not the late discovery that's the issue, it's you finagling a no-cost attorney that's the issue. You could have just hired an attorney, which is what the judge will probably tell you.

Libel: Re: Libel Not Made Public

    Corrected can to can't.

In fact, by settling (for whatever reason) you, HHI29928, have permanently eliminated any recourse for the statement.

Just like taking a plea bargain in a criminal case...
  12. Speeding Tickets: Re: Cowlitz Co. Wa Speeding Ticket: Showing Prejudice

Prejudice would be if the delay made it impossible to prepare a proper defense. I don't see that happening here. If you can't prepare a defense in 6 days you probably couldn't prepare it in 7 days,...

Libel: Re: Libel Not Made Public

There is a certain amount of immunity for statements made during litigation.

Were you able to present evidence refuting the "lie"?

If not, then the statement may have had to have been accepted...
  14. Re: How to Fight Disregard Traffic Control Device

Sure. But I think you mean can you successfully fight it?

No way to predict. All you can do is plead not guilty and tell your story.

My guess - You'll probably lose.

It's not harassment if you owe the money.

Let them sue you. Then they'll have to produce the contract that you signed without reading and didn't keep a copy.
  16. Repossession: Re: Removing Not Actual Miles Branded Title

It's not backward or stupid. It's necessary to avoid people getting conned by buying vehicles without titles.

You aren't likely to find specific statutes that address the branding. When states...

    Breaking a Lease: Re: Eviction

You'll have to pay something. You might only have to pay from the date she is out to the date that the place is re-rented.

That depends on the terms of the lease. See CA Civil Code 1951.4:

    Breaking a Lease: Re: Eviction

If you are saying that you co-signed the lease, thus guaranteeing her performance, it means that you pay if she doesn't.

    That's what co-signing means.
