Re: What Are My Legal Options Here

I love this guy! I've never seen someone who is so convince that they're right when they're wrong, that they won when they didn't get anything that they want or is so utterly unable to comprehend...

Hiring a Lawyer: Re: 16 Year Old 4th Violated and Damage Done

The CBP can tear apart your car at a border crossing and hand you the parts if that's what they need to do. I've seen that first hand. You'd be hard pressed to say that anyone owes anything if the...

Hiring a Lawyer: Re: 16 Year Old 4th Violated and Damage Done

If you think the current administration is Communist or Socialist then you've got another thing coming.
  4. Mediation and Arbitration: Re: Arbitration Award Being Ignored and Courts Still Tryiong to Evict

This has been great case of the OP not really lookin for, well, anything.

OP, are you sure that you didn't graduate from Kornell? Judging by your writing and usage I'd be hard pressed to believe...
  5. Re: Water Line on My Property Broken by City Worker. Who's Liable

Utilities aren't shy about cutting service. They can and will do so.
  6. Re: Water Line on My Property Broken by City Worker. Who's Liable

If it broke because it was already corroded and weak then it's not negligence. As to their meter, if you don't comply with their metering upgrades they can terminate service to your home.
  7. Re: Water Line on My Property Broken by City Worker. Who's Liable

A few quick points: was this a city worker or a contractor? This may affect liability.

Lead pipes were galvanized as well. They weren't bare lead. How sure are you that you don't have lead pipes?...

    Re: Why Me

I do understand that. I also am unwilling to say that that's the likely outcome. I cannot say what will happen, there are factors on both sides that play one another favor. It's why I recommended an...

    Re: Why Me

MMM....I'm just not willing to go that far. Married and state law presumes paternity. While it's true that stranger things have happened I wouldn't bet on it.

That said, this whole thing is such a...

    Re: Why Me

This is sort of painful to read.

OP, you have not explained what "married on paper" means to you. Are you LEGALLY married? I would presume so as your WIFE is seeking a divorce. If the child is 2...
  11. Re: Is It Illegal in the U.S. to Be a "Conspiracy Theorist" Nowadays

Sounds like a wacky conspiracy theory.

Sales Agreements: Re: Full Time 4 Wheel Drive

Sure, you could retain an attorney but leases are pretty boilerplate. YOU leased the car without any sort of inspection. Knowing that you were a, as you put it, naive woman, you put your own head on...

Sales Agreements: Re: Full Time 4 Wheel Drive

You leased this car and are responsible for it for the duration of the contract. Just because you didn't know that it was full time 4WD doesn't mean it's the dealers fault, you, as the buyer, have...
  14. Re: Thought I Purchase a Townhome with a Detatched Garage

Without knowing what state you're in I can't say for sure but you may not be able to use those recordings if the agent didn't grant consent.

    Re: Tricked into Child Support

Vili Fuallau and Mary Kay LeTourneau are married now and used to host a regular event, here in my neighborhood, called Hot for Teacher.
  16. Disciplinary Issues: Re: Disciplined

Don't necropost. This issue's been dead for several months. Also, there is no mechanism for you to find out if another person has been disciplined at work. HR won't tell you anything because it's...

  18. Re: Contractors Not Finishing Their Work, Damaging House

Electricians commonly cut holes into walls to fish in cables. They also, commonly don't repair the sheet rock as that is not what they do and you really don't want to pay the hourly rate for an...

Pets and Animals: Re: Animal Control Duties

This was hashed out pretty thoroughly in the OP's last thread.

This issue either is or isn't under investigation by the state (there is conflicting info between the Op and one of the other posters...

Consumer Law Issues: Re: C.o.d Contract "Balance Due at Installation"

Again, it would be very unusual for the foreman for the prime contractor, or for a sub, to have the authority to make or alter contracts. It the foreman was the owner that would be one thing but that...

Consumer Law Issues: Re: C.o.d Contract "Balance Due at Installation"

As a former contractor in the state in question, Bud, there are some snags in your reasoning staring with the fact that the foreman for an installer likely doesn't have contract authority. What they...

Consumer Law Issues: Re: C.o.d Contract "Balance Due at Installation"

OP, it would seem that you've done a great job in tying your own hands.

You made a contractual agreement for a product, which would have included the term and conditions (T&C's) and the exclusions...

Social Security Issues: Re: Being Denied 100% Benefits

First, it's not the retirees, it's the Millennials and Gen Z. If they actually voted (given their general political leanings) the Republicans would never win again. Second, one of the advantages that...

  25. Water Rights: Re: Does the Owner of a Lakebed Own the River That Feeds It

IF there is a history of recreation on the river, even seasonal, then it can be considered navigable by fact. Your quick scan from a satellite image is not relevant. To that point I've found info...
