    Re: Vacation Denial

Still sounds like a mountain out of a molehill to me.
  2. Re: Could Someone Go to Jail if He or She Gives His or Her Account

Yes, "someone" could go to jail, but it won't be you. "That guy you talk to" could end up in jail.

It's a scam. Close your account, open a new one, and don't give anyone else access to it.

    Re: Vacation Denial

I've had both. My current employer is bending over backwards trying to take care of their employees. Three others I can think of also did exemplary jobs of looking after their people.

    On the other...

Custody and Visitation Issues: Re: Out of Country Vacation

Given that the OP is now back and talking about the original question he asked, can we turn off the Harold99 Soapbox Show and get back to the business of the thread?

Re: Confusion with Residency As a Minor

True. But the other option exists, and they need to be aware of it. It might be easier to include Sarah on her friend's existing policy that to buy a new one, solely for her, as a minor.

Custody and Visitation Issues: Re: Out of Country Vacation

I don't know where you get the idea that I'm getting my information from the media.

Since you like to play "gotcha" games, Harold, here's one for you.

Where AM I getting my information from,...

Custody and Visitation Issues: Re: Out of Country Vacation

It's your position; it's up to you to put your money where your mouth is. You either won't or, more likely, can't. So be it.

And I don't recall responding to your "test" other than to tell you...

Re: Confusion with Residency As a Minor

There's health insurance as well. You (or your parents) need to confirm whether their insurance will cover you in Florida. If it does not, your friends in Florida will almost certainly need a court...

Modification of Custody: Re: Can a 17 Year Old Adopt His 15 Year Old Sister

I checked to be sure that Maine has a statute for emancipation (not all states do) but as one writer to another, that's research for you to do. I've got enough research to do with my own books. (wink)

Modification of Custody: Re: Can a 17 Year Old Adopt His 15 Year Old Sister

As another writer, I would strongly recommend to the OP that he do some research as to how often a minor in Maine is actually emancipated, if he wants to go that route.
  14. Re: Can the Gov of Hawaii Be Sued for Violation People's Rights

Thanks for the heads up. Mea culpa.
  15. Re: Can the Gov of Hawaii Be Sued for Violation People's Rights

"whether you live on the mainland or not" is not a protected right under the law. It's legal to discriminate based on geography in this case.

Still another thread that's been diverted from the OP's question to a soapbox for Harold to decry how unfairly he believes he has been treated...

Harassment: Re: Ex-Wife/Boss: Tolerate/Stay or Go

While it is true that a password can be reset easily in many cases, the passwords belong to the business, not to the OP.

  22. Privacy Crimes: Re: Can a Business for Any Reason Give Out My Ssn Number

There doesn't have to be a law giving them permission to provide your SSN in a garnishment. As long as there isn't a law prohibiting it, it's legal.
