    Retail Fraud or Embezzlement
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

I was an employee at a large chain store in a mall. Over the course of several months I either stole items, returned merchandise off the floor to create a gift card for myself, or mark down items so I could use the gift card I created and not have to pay the full price all at over $1000. I say all of this as I am truly, truly sorry and haven't slept a night over the last few days. I hurt my wife, 3 kids, family and friends by my truly selfish acts, all over some stupid items. I have not been formally charged yet but don't know what will happen or what I should do. What can I expect from this point on and what should I do? I am so scared. I also signed a paper of everything I did at the store and paid back everything the next day in restitution.

You should plan on getting an attorney to help you with your felony charge.

It really doesn't matter whether it is theft or embezzlement... or both.
