Wrong Speed limit on a Ticket
I was pulled over for speeding today, was going 54 in a 40. I turned on to a residential street, and wasn't pulled over until I had already turned twice in the residential neighborhood. He told me that he had clocked me back on the main road, and I'm not disputing that. The thing is, on the ticket it says "SPEED 54 IN 30 ZONE" It wasn't a 30 zone though, it was a 40 zone. If I don't mention this until I cross-examine the police officer, will this be grounds for dismissal? If not, I will prepare my defense against the radar as well.
Re: Wrong Speed limit on ticket (MN)
It won't be grounds for dismissal, but it should be grounds for a reduction in the ticket.
I suggest taking photographs to document the speed limit at the point where the ticket indicates that you were speeding.
