F1 Visa
Hello,
I have stayed in the states for about 8 years and came back to my country after turning 18 (in 180 days) so I fall under "Unlawful Presence".
I applied for a tourist visa in my country in the application there was a question
1. Have you ever traveled U.S before ? "YES"
2. How long ? "2 Months"
I should have written 8 years and I wrote 2 months (because I was nervous of the ban). Now I want to apply for Student Visa but I want to show proof that I have stayed there for 8 years(not lying) I also have an American accent.
My question is:
The application I filled has a strong mistake How long do they keep that application in there Database?
Will I still be eligible for a Student Visa?
Thanks!

Re: F1 Visa
You should expect that the USCIS will maintain a record of your statements indefinitely.
I can't predict for you whether your misstatements will prevent you from getting a visa, but obviously it's not a good thing to get caught intentionally lying on any immigration document.

Re: F1 Visa
I have already went for an interview and she asked me general questions and refused me the visa without looking at the paperwork. I want to give a gap between few months and I want to go for the Student Visa interview again but this time I want to write on the application 8 years stay (do not want to lie anymore). You think I have a chance?
NOTE: The last time I went on the interview it was on tourist visa.
Please advice I am really frustrated. Can I go for Canada student and tell the truth.
