Spousal Support With a Low-Income Payor
My question involves divorce in the State of:GA
I'm considering getting a divorce because my husband is having an affair. We've been marriage 22 years and this is the third affair that i know of during our marriage. We have a five year old son, and I'm really considering divore or legal separating, but i'm really concerned with how i'll be able to continue paying the my bills and then the morgage which my husband was paying. Also my son is adopted so i receive an adoption assistance check for him each month in the amount of 387.00, will this affect the courts decison about whether or not i should receive child support, and will they even consider spousal support. I also work and make about 1800.00 a month.

Did your husband also adopt your son?

Your marriage at 22 years long will be considered a long term marriage and you may well be entitled to spousal support.

You need to speak with an attorney to protect your interests.

How much do you think a court will order for child and spousal support with the spouse making only 2400.00 a month

This website will explain how the CS calculations work and link you to the state's software.

For SS you need to consult an attorney.
