Visa Costs
I was deported from the US in 2006 and barred for 10 years . I have no criminal history in the US . I have a friend with a registered company in the US who would like to offer me a sponsorship , we worked alongside each other for a few years in the US and he would like to employ me , i realise that this has a very slim chance of success. I can obtain many work and personal references to go alongside my application.
Can i apply for an H1B1 ? I believe i need to file an I212 ? I would do this through an immigration lawyer how much should i expect to pay for his services ?
Thank you in advance .

Re: Visa Costs
Your history will generally prevent you from obtaining any kind of visa in the US unless you can obtain a waiver. What was the reason for the deportation?
By all means have at least an initial consult with an immigration attorney.

Re: Visa Costs
The reason for my deportation was a 6 year overstay , i was charged with a violation that resulted in nothing showing on my criminal record .
Can you only get a hardship waiver or are there other options ?

Re: Visa Costs
I honestly cannot see you being granted any visa at all until the 10 years have passed. You obviously don't qualify for the hardship waiver.
Again, speak with an immigration attorney.
