Forums for Non-Law Subjects
Of course i think this board could benefit from having stuff like a guitar forum, car forum, computer forum and whatnot and to allow embedding from Youtube and to have avatars.
-
Re: Forum Philosophy - Like It, Or Leave It
Which are all SO relevant to the purpose of this forum, which is to provide LEGAL information.

if you have a legal question about a guitar, a car, a computer, or a whatnot, I am sure you can find the appropriate topic to ask such a question. Other than that, no, the forum would not benefit from allowing any of the items you suggested.

Feel free to start your own board.
This is a legal forum, not a "Whatever I feel like talking about" forum.

Congratulations - you've found it. The Banter forum.

Embedded code raises the possibility of security holes, particularly for users of the forum.

I haven't seen much of a groundswell of support for avatars. In vBulletin forums that allow avatars, they often become more of a distraction than a benefit, and can be a headache for administrators.

So I can start a thread about cross-dressing Sumo wrestlers without repercussions?

I would guess that would depend on whether they take offense to being outed or not.

Re: Forums for Non-Law Subjects
Of course earlier today i went into town looking at Ibanez's and Schecter guitars, because the one i have right now is a horrible starter guitar that does strumming good but not shredding.
-
Re: Forums for Non-Law Subjects
sounds like you need to stick with playing guitar hero. A good musician can make a poor instrument sound good. A good instrument will allow a good musician to be even better.
No instrument will make a poor musician sound good
well, unless that instrument is a recording device in playback mode with a good musician already having been recorded.
-
Re: Forums for Non-Law Subjects
jk, I believe the expression is, "A good musician always blames his instrument." ;)

the guitar sounds a lot like Sabbath (at least when I listened to them in the '70's). Not a lot of technical work. How about this:
a little steve vai?
btw: both parts of the duel are actually played by Vai. The slide stuff is by Ry Cooder
-
Re: Forums for Non-Law Subjects
I almost get the urge to spoon with a guitar, like someone we know, at the sound of Vai!!!
Actually, I been into french lately.......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cisp8...eature=related
