    Unemployment Benefits in Pennsylvania
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Pennsylvania.Have a friend who is in tier 1 of the emergency unemployment compensation. Can she turn down a part time job with no benefits to persue a fulltime position with benefits. She has only been able to find part time(up to 36 hours)with no benefits what so ever.Is she required to accept a part time offer. Also how does a temporary job(census) affect benefits

Refusing even part-time work will almost certainly stop her benefits. She takes the part-time work, then continues to pursue better opportunities. Working for the census isn't any different than any other part-time work.

I read somewhere you are not required to take a lower paying job and a job totally out of your field of your previous job

At some point, the state may not care. If she's on an extension, she's probably been out of work for quite some time. I'd recommend she call and ask the DLI.
