    Shoplifting in California at Walmart
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

Last week, I shoplifted a $10 item from a Walmart in California. As I was exiting the doors, the LP officer stopped me and led me to a room toward the back of the store. He took a photo of me and took down some of my information. He told me that this incident would not go on my criminal record as long as I paid the civil demand that would come in the mail. Additionally, he told me that I would not be allowed to shop at Walmart. The LP officer let me go within 10 minutes. No police were involved. My questions are: around how long will it take for the civil demand to reach me? Around how much will it cost? Will I face any other charges? And is there any chance that I will be sent to court?

I know what I did was terrible and I will regret it for the rest of my life. Please, any help would be appreciated.

Within about a month, between 110 and 160 dollars. Don't go to the store and you will probably not go to court. And hey, we all make mistakes, as long as you learn from them you're on the right track :)

The Civil Demand amount in California is not less that $50 or more that $500.
