    Minor Charged with Shoplifting
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arizona
About 6 months ago I was caught shoplifting and completed all tasks required by my PO
Yesterday I was caught shoplifting again(both under 100 dollars) and I am very worried about the consequences. Please help.
    Thank you

Again, you will have a Civil Demand to pay.

Again, you will be going to court. Don't expect to get off so leniently this time. And if you were in a Diversion Program or First Time Offenders Program, you will NOT be getting that again. Count on a harsher sentence for repeat offenders.

Oh...and count on a CRIMINAL record that will haunt you for many years, and limit your job, career, and college options.

After talking to my previous PO I have been told that I will most likely get the diversion program again.

Good luck with that. You did not learn from the first Diversion Program. If you get another chance...well...I'm sure it was not a free program for your parents to pay.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this site intended for help? You seem to be picking a fight with me yet you do not know me. Psychological disorders pay a large role in determing the punishment for a minor. Thank you for your reply though.

I'm just stating what will likely happen.

Diversion programs are usually for FIRST TIME offenders.

Have your parents set you up with a Criminal Defense Lawyer.

Next time you think about shoplifting...think about how much money your parents have to spend on your lawyer fees, your fines....

Is that possible even after kind of admitting to the police?

Fudge! Look some of us are trying to help you. Keep your attitude to yourself. We are volunteers and we are doing the best as we can. We can choose not to help you and just leave you in the dust.

Now, you have to pay the civil demand, and sorry no diversion program this time. Expect the judge to give you a harsher sentence.

I'm surprised that your parents aren't pissed off about your actions. They have to pay for a Criminal Defense Lawyer, civil demand, and court fees because you are a minor.

When you turn 18, don't do this again or YOU will have to pay.

I didn't know they were giving out psychiatric licenses to minors.

Unless you have a mental health professional that has treated you and is willing to testify, this argument holds no water.

Further, it doesn't give you a license to steal and then pay no penalty.
