Shoplifting from Wal-Mart in North Carolina
My question involves criminal law for the state of: North Carolina
I was caught shoplifting about 20$ worth of stuff from Wal-mart. I paid the Civil Demand and was wondering if there is ANY possible way to keep this off my record, also the age and amount of merchandise on my summons was wrong

You can talk to a local lawyer about whether you might be eligible for a diversion program or a deferred sentence.

I was hoping for a less obvious solution, thanks though. This is my first offense and I am selling things as we to be able to afford my days in court

Also I don't think I can get a deferred sentence because it was a crime of moral turptitude

    Sooooooo, you're facing criminal charges?

Does NC have diversion/first-time offender diversion programs?
