Embezzlement of a Check by an Employee

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas.

I have an employee that just reveled to me that he took a check that was supposed to be out to my companies' name, but asked the customer to make it to his name and cashed it, this was a year a go, my question is does this constitute Embezzlement‎?
