Green Card from E2 or from L1 Visa
    Hi,
I am working in Germany and will get a transfer to an office of my current company in USA. My employer could apply for E2 or L1 visa for me. I'd like to apply for a green card later . Do you know what is easier?:
A path from E2 to Green card or from L1 to Green card?

    Thank you
    Tara

Speaking in broad terms, the L1 doesn't require labor certification if you would qualify as an EB1 Multinational Executive or Manager (that's usually going to be an L1A visa; most L1B's will require labor certification), and immigrant visas are more likely to be available in that category. The process can be costly and can take many years, so it's worth taking the time to discuss the details of your situation with your immigration lawyer (or, if they're willing to pay, your company's) up front.
