My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
My daughter is on spring break at Panama City Beach. She just called to say she got a ticket for illegal possession. We life in Illinois. Will she have to go back for Florida to appear and what will the fine be?

That's a misdemeanor charge carrying a maximum potential penalty of 60 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $500, plus court assessments. The charge will have to be resolved in Florida; you can consult a lawyer in the county where she's charged to see if there is a way to resolve the charge without her having to return to that state.
